introduction - remote control

Building a great home theater on a budget is tough.  Building a home theater that anyone in the family can use and enjoy can be almost impossible.  With over 10 source components, a sophisticated receiver with many surround options, a display with a variety of input and color settings and a home theater PC, controlling each setting and component makes for a complex matrix of settings depending on what you want to see, hear, or play.

After spending a lot of time on Remote Central, I decided to get a pronto based remote.  Knowing that I would be controlling devices like Tivo, I really wanted a pronto remote with some hard buttons on it as well as the touch screen.  I settled on the Marantz RC5200 remote.  I got a really great deal on the remote by buying a refurbished unit from an authorized Marantz service center.
